If you follow our blog, you may have noticed a few changes in our master bedroom tour from yesterday!  In case you don’t, let me explain.  Our walls in our master bedroom have been fairly blank for some time, until now!  There have been four new additions.  One of which is our wedding vows!

Eric and I worked very hard to make our wedding as personal as possible because the main point for spending the money on the shindig was to pronounce our love for each other and share our love with our family and friends!  This was of utmost important to us!  So, writing our own vows was a give-in.  A lot of couples use standard vows, or if they write their own vows, they do so together.  There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with these options, but for us, we wanted to take this opportunity to express our deepest sentiments to each other as a surprise.

Since we worked so hard writing our vows and they were so deeply personal, we knew that we wanted to display them in our master bedroom, for both sentimental reasons and as a daily reminder of our union (not that we need it).  And once I found the awesome heavy duty metal key for $4.99 at Ross… I knew it was time!

After everything was up, the key was showing some bright silver nail heads and I was just not feeling it! I quickly grabbed a craft paint brush and some brown acrylic paint. Abracadabra… no more silver standing out like a sore thumb!

Now, the other wall hanging (out of the four) is a series of our engagement photos that we had yet to hang, but it’s on a wall that was never seen on the blog before yesterday… so, you weren’t missing anything! But, here it is!

Totally happy…

I know there are tons of more creative ways to display wedding vows, but for us, I just wanted to keep them in their truest, simplest form.  It works for us.
