Updated Whole House Tour
Hey guys. I feel very fortunate to be participating in a wonderful linky party over at A Bowl Full of Lemons – The Parade of Homes. If you haven’t already checked out Toni’s blog, you should! It’s full of tons of fun challenges that are worth a gander, and the linky party is full of amazing inspiration! To celebrate this wonderful linky party and amazing blog, I’ve officially updated a long-overdue home tour. Feel free to check out the updated tour below. After this, I promise to try and keep the Home Tour tab updated as best I can as we go… so check back for updates when you can! The “stats” on our Home! Track Home Built in 2003 2300 sq. ft., single story! 4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms VERY Open Floorplan Disclaimer (LOL): The following “before” pictures are just that… very “before,” taken when we first bought the house. As mentioned in our About Us, the house was a short sale that needed a ton of TLC, but it had the bones/floorplan we wanted, so we bought it anyways, figuring we could do most of the work ourselves and get it all up to our standards!!! We’ve now been in our house about a year and a half, which sounds like a long time, but when you are DIYing almost everything, progress is not always speedy! As such, “progress” pictures are simply posted as we go, but you can check out our “goals” for our home at the bottom of the About Us page if you want an idea of where we’re going with it all. Front of the house: Before Backyard: Before Sideyard: Before Entryway: Before Progress Dining Room: Before Progress Living Room: Before Progress Kitchen: Before Progress Family Room: Before Progress (bad cell picture… sorry! new … Continue reading
Gym’n It UP!
One major life goal that Eric and I have is to stay healthy. We’ve both always been athletic. Eric played soccer, baseball, and basketball growing up, and in his adult life, spent many hours wakeboarding, snowboarding, and participating in outdoor sports. I was a competitive gymnast and runner through high school, and then maintained my athleticism via hiking, biking, snow skiing, and running. So, it’s safe to say that we’re athletic, but here come’s the problem… After we started dating, life got really busy! Ya, I know I know… excuses, excuses, BUT hear me out. Many of you know, Eric commutes a good distance to work daily and I work full time and go to law school at night. So, while we had gym memberships and everything, we just found that we weren’t taking the time to GO to the gym. Thus, we decided we had to take action to ensure that we stayed healthy!!! Just an FYI… you will quickly see that there is no large gym equipment (i.e.- treadmill, elliptical, weight bench, etc.) in our gym. The reason for this is that my husband and I do P90x and thus, no large equipment is required. This is great for us, since we are always on a budget and large gym equipment is expensive. Also, any time we’re not using P90x, we either run or bike outside, and if nothing else, we hook our road bicycles up to an indoor trainer and ride inside for bad weather occasions. (Just a side note: If you don’t know what P90X is, I highly recommend checking it out as a fitness plan. It’s the most amazing home fitness program, and I will just say that I was never a home-video fitness person.) OUR SOLUTION: build a gym in the house!!! Luckily, we … Continue reading
