Today, Jane from The Borrowed Abode is wrapping up our guest series on our Favorite Things!  I truly couldn’t think of a better person to ring in the grand finale!  Jane is an innovative creative mind!  She blogs specifically about projects that relate back to living in a rental!  Who doesn’t need amazing ideas to make a drab rental a beautiful home!  She also, started a business not too long ago called Janery!  Her products are amazing (and I actually will be the proud new owner of a Janery pillow in short few weeks)!  So, let’s see what amazingness Jane has to share with us today!  Take it away Jane! ******************************************** Hi guys! I’m excited to be guest posting here on Design Build Love today – although I must admit that when Ashley asked me to guest post on my “Favorite Things” I was stumped, because there are so many random things that rock my world, from the little things like coffee and chocolate to the bigger, more important things such as Ryan, my amazing fiance and partner. So because I couldn’t make up my mind, I decided to share a random smattering of my favorite things, both big and small. So here they are, in no particular order: 1. Supporting Small Businesses I don’t have a fancy photo to illustrate this, but one of my top passions is supporting small and handmade businesses, and most definitely avoiding sweatshop-produced merchandise when possible. 2. Today, Amanda from Our Humble A{bowe}d has popped over to share a few of her favorite things!  This girl is stylish, creative, and can literally dream up and do just about anything!  And she also happens to run an awesome Etsy Store, selling her art and prints for the home!!!  So happy to have her here today to share a little piece of her world with all of us! ******************************************** When Ashley asked us to share a few of our favorite things, I had the idea to share items in our home that feel more expensive than they really are. Here are our favorite things: White plates: Ours are from World Market. At $25 for a set of twelve dinner plates, you can afford to buy a few sets if you’re hosting large dinner parties. Or Christmas dinner. These plates are perfect for every day use, and you can jazz them up with festive chargers and napkins or mix decorative plates in for a fun table. Glass or acrylic containers: Look for lidded glass containers at craft stores (Hobby Lobby has a good selection), thrift stores, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Ross and other discount stores to avoid high prices. We use glass containers in the kitchen and pantry to hold noodles, crackers, and baking staples. Use jars in the bathroom for a pretty (and organized) way to keep q-tips, cotton balls, and soap in plain sight. Your guests will thank you. Pour mouthwash in a glass bottle for easy access and a pop of color. If glass isn’t practical, buy acrylic pieces, like these desk accessories to keep your office organized.
