Valentines Dessert on a Budget

Blueberry_tart_web-14 copy

Let's be honest here... How much do you spend on Valentine's Day?  Fifteen bucks for chocolates?  Fifty for flowers?  A million dollars on dinner?  Ok, maybe more like $100 but sometimes it does feel like a million.  But you don't have to break your budget to keep from breaking your babe's heart. I'm a firm believer that intentional gifts are always the best!  There is nothing better than knowing that your significant other put their mind and heart into making something special just for you.  … [Read more...]

Our ONE WORD: Why we didn’t do New Years Resolutions

My One Word - Growth

Plain and simple, we are goal setters.  We want to do something, we set goals.  Just like I talked about in the last post, Eric and I have lots of SMART goals that we've set for 2014 and I shared a few of the big ones!  But, even though we set goals for ourselves throughout the year, and occasionally use New Years as a launching pad/resetting time for some of our goals, we decided to do something a bit different this year.   We decided to have ONE WORD to inspire our year, for all of 2014.  … [Read more...]

Our little nephew Bryden, who we introduced you to here, turned one last weekend, and to celebrate, his parents through a pool party shindig!  Honestly, we can’t believe he’s already a year old.  Time really flies… and it makes me scared that when we have kids, the time will fly by even faster!  Yikes! Father’s Day Gifts Defined by Pinterest

When holidays approach, I always find it entertaining to see my Pinterest feed fill up with gift ideas. In particular, it's amazing to see the level of creativity that goes into some of the handmade gifts! Well, father's day is no exception. We all LOVE our dads, and showing them how much we care is really important! In my family, gifts are not big, but time is. So, I'll be finding ways to give my dad my time. But, since that is not exactly something that translates well into a blog post, I … [Read more...]

Ever since I bought my new Nikon D3100, I’ve been dying to try it out on the family and Easter was the perfect opportunity!  While, most of the time, I’m still shooting in manual, it’s still tons of fun and captures bold, vibrant photos!  I’m looking forward to learning tons of tips and tricks for using the camera, but I should probably at least begin with the free instructional DVD that came with the kit! As usual, our holidays are fun-filled craziness!  We managed to pack in all … [Read more...]

Toes in the water, Ass in the sand… Honeymoon-Style

Yup! I cussed in this blog title, but you'll just have to get over it because I have an excuse! Our entire honeymoon was hysterically euphoric and we just kept quoting this song over and over!  So, there! If you follow our blog, you know that Eric and I got married about two and half years ago, but never had the opportunity to take our honeymoon.  We finally decided to do it and jet-setted in December for eight days!  Yes. Eight. Whole. Days!  Neither of us have ever taken that much time off. … [Read more...]
