Yup, we were throwin’ bows to get some deals for Black Friday!  We made our list, checked the ads twice, and were ready to rock! 

As our first ever Black Friday Adventure, we feel like we did a hell-of-a-job!!!  We figured, if nothing else, it would be good entertainment.  BUT, in the end, we scored the exact deals we were hoping to get!!!

At Target, we were completely in it for TV’s!  We specifically went to get a 46″ LCD on sale for a rock-bottom price of $280!  What?!?!? Crazy, I know!  The store opened at midnight, so we got there at 9pm.  We thought we were plenty early, but apparently NOT!  When we got in, they were out of our TV’s and only had 40″ LCDs left for $260.  Still not a bad deal, but not exactly what we wanted.  Though, afraid we’d miss the deal, we grabbed two (one each)! After we grabbed the TV’s, I ran to the TV mounts and grabbed two for $50 a piece… and they were the last two on the shelf!  Then, as we headed for the check stands, I saw the family that was immediately in front of us in line, and they had a 46″!  I was distraught!  So distraught, that I asked them how they scored the TV, thinking they go the last one… Not. The. Case.

They told me that someone decided they didn’t need two and gave the extra one to them!  I told Eric to stand by the carts, I was heading in!  I set out on a mission to “get” a 46″ TV!  I prowled through the store, looking for the right person, and sure enough I found her!  She was standing there, kind of aimlessly with one 46″ TV in her cart.  Then, I saw some other “friends” we’d made while standing in line and I explained my predicament to them (loudly enough for this aimless woman to hear).  Hearing my story, she says, “Would you like this TV?  My husband is in the store and I think he has one too.”  I emphatically say “YES!!!!!”  She replied that she’d call her husband to confirm that he still had his TV, and sure enough, he did!  She then handed me her cart with the TV and I was on my way!  I literally skipped and smiled ear-to-ear with the cart and TV in hand.  As Eric saw my excited jumping approaching him, he starting laughing.  He seriously thought I was crazy thinking I could get someone to give me a TV.  But. I. Did. And he was so proud of his wife’s prowess!!! Totally wish I had a picture of this! Why do I always fail to document monumental moments?!?!?

We proudly checked out and got a series of glares from those still in line outside as we left the store!  In the end, the 46″ is spending its time in our family room, and the 40″ has found its home in our master bedroom!  Both TVs will be hung in the near future!!!

Then… there was Lowe’s!  We needed us some tools, and they had awesome deals!  There’s no great story here, so what did we score?

What we would have loved to get also…

• $149 = Campbell Hausfeld 5-Tool Framing Air Tool Kit
• $900 = Tons of Front Loader Washer/Dryers!  I’ve been fantasizing about these for a laundry room makeover, but they’re just not in the budget at the moment.
• $28 = Dremel 200 Series Rotary Tool Kit
